Burrows is a new pre-school stop-motion animation series set in a shop run by animals for animals. The supermarket come department store has a workforce of colourful characters, from a bumbling badger as store manager to Alice duck at the checkout and a team of shelf stacking mice, all under the watchful eye of Hank Fox, the security guard. Part soap opera, part sitcom, each episode will be stand-alone but the series includes a number of recurring gags and themes.
Burrows is a Welsh/Irish co-production between Calon and Telegael. Both companies have a 25 year track record of producing TV programmes for the UK and international markets. Robin Lyons of Calon is one of the most respected animators in the business today. He now runs Calon, the production company responsible for Hanna’s Helpline, Igam Ogam and Zoo Factor. Robin also breathed life into Super Ted, Fireman Sam, Hilltop Hospital and many other childrens’ favourites.
Paul Cummins, founder of Telegael, has acted as Executive Producer on more than 40 projects for the global television market amounting to more than 750 hours of programming. These projects include two-time Emmy Award winning series Tutenstein for PorchLight Entertainment and Discovery Kids, Hero -108 for Moonscoop and Cartoon Network, Skunk Fu for Cartoon Saloon and Super-RTL/BBC and three-time IFTA winner Aifric, the tween live action series which has been translated into seven different languages.
