Doodle Girl is a hand-drawn animated series for upper preschoolers, exploring an imaginative world inside a sketchbook where Doodle Girl tackles extraordinary situations with creativity and humour. The series is based on the Doodle Girl books, written by Suzanne Smith and Lindsay Taylor, and illustrated by Marnie Maurri.

Doodle Girl has been commissioned by RTE of Ireland and is produced by Studio Meala, which was founded by Sean Cunningham, Stephen Fagan and Jerry Twomey with a collective 40 years of experience. Studio Meala has recently won the Irish Animation Award for ‘Best Newcomer’. Doodle Girl is coproduced by Alt Animation in the UK, which was formed in 2016 by Producers Andrea McQuade and Tim Bryans and Creative Director Lee McQuade, who together have over 35 years of experience and have produced dozens of hours of animated content including award-winners. Doodle Girl is written by Shane Perez (YooHoo and Friends), the recipient of the 2019 Writers Guild of Ireland award for Best Animated Script for Space Chickens in Space.
